Q. What are good sources of calcium?
A.Dairy products (milk, cheese, yogurt, etc.) are the most concentrated food sources of calcium (e.g. one cup of milk contains approximately 271 mg of calcium). Even individuals who are lactose intolerant are usually able to eat small amounts of dairy products such as yogurt, cheese, and lactase-treated milk. Individuals who avoid dairy products due to allergies may select nondairy foods that contain calcium, such as beans, tofu (if processed with calcium sulfate), broccoli, and kale. However, it is difficult to absorb the same amount of calcium from these nondairy alternatives as from dairy products because the overall calcium concentrations and bioavailabilities are lower.

Q.How much calcium should be consumed each day?
A.The Dietary Reference Intakes (DRIs) for calcium aim to ensure that individuals will be able to maximize peak adult bone mass, maintain adult bone mass, and minimize bone loss in later years. The DRIs may be revised further as more calcium research is performed.

Q.What function does calcium have in the body?
A.Calcium is a mineral used for numerous functions, including building bones and teeth, muscle contraction, blood clotting, maintenance of cell membranes, and nerve transmission. Because most of the calcium in the body is found in the skeleton, calcium’s critical function in maintaining bone health receives much attention.

Q.How does Magnesium work ?
A.Magnesium is required for the proper growth and maintenance of bones. Magnesium is also required for the proper function of nerves, muscles, and many other parts of the body. In the stomach, magnesium helps neutralize stomach acid and moves stools through the intestine.

Q.What are the functions of Calcium ?
A.Calcium is one of the most important minerals for the the human body. Calcium helps form and maintain healthy teeth and bones. Proper levels of calcium over a lifetime can help prevent osteoporosis.
Calcium helps your body with:
• Building strong bones and teeth
• Clotting blood
• Sending and receiving nerve signals
• Squeezing and relaxing muscles
• Releasing hormones and other chemicals
• Keeping a normal heartbeat

Q.Why are Calcium and Vitamin D used for the bones?
A.Your body needs calcium to keep your bones dense and strong.Low bone density can cause your bones to become brittle and fragile. These weak bones can fracture (break) easily, even without an obvious injury. Vitamin D helps your body absorb calcium. Eat foods that provide the right amounts of calcium, vitamin D, and protein. This kind of diet will give your body the building blocks it needs to make and maintain strong bones.

Q.What are the benefits of Magnesium ?
A. The benefits of Magnesium are as follows:

• bones health
• nerve health
• diabeties
• hypertension
• cardiovascular disease

Miss.BHARTI (From : KOLKATA)
Country Life is already a reputed brand in the market. Excellent combination of Calcium and Magnesium with Vitamin D to absorb the same. The pear-shaped tablets are ideal for a neat swallow but might be difficult for some since they are slightly bigger in size. Nevertheless, ideal product for all ages esp. middle-aged woman and the elderly.
