Description:

• Glucosamine + Chondroitin + MSM, with Manganese and Vitamin C
• Supports Joint Health
• Dietary Supplement

Glucosamine + Chondroitin + MSM combination provides efficacious quantities of glucosamine sulfate, chondroitin sulfate, and MSM combined with vitamin C and manganese for optimizing joint health.

Glucosamine Sulfate is an essential component of joint tissue and can be utilized to produce synovial fluid, which lubricates the joints. Sulfur is also utilized in the production of cartilage tissue.

Chondroitin Sulfate stimulates the synthesis of hyaluronic acid (a component of synovial fluid) which is the lubricant for joints as well as a major component of connective tissue in the skin.

Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is an organic source of sulfur, an antioxidant mineral and critical component of structural body tissues such as cartilage. The sulfur from MSM is incorporated into joint tissues as glycosaminoglycans (or mucopolysaccharides) such as chondroitin sulfate and hyaluronic acid.

Vitamin C and Manganese are required for the synthesis of collagen and cartilage.

Jarrow Formulas Glucosamine + Chondroitin + MSM Combination is Joint Sustain nutrition, providing a Sodium Free form of GS stabilized with only potassium chloride (KCI).

Q.What is Glucosamine sulfate?
A. Glucosamine sulfate is a naturally occurring chemical found in the human body. It is in the fluid that is around joints. Glucosamine is also found in other places in nature. For example, the glucosamine sulfate that is put into dietary supplements is often harvested from the shells of shellfish. Glucosamine sulfate used in dietary supplements does not always come from natural sources. It can also be made in a laboratory. Glucosamine sulfate is commonly used for arthritis. Scientists have studied it extensively for this use. It is most often used for a type of arthritis called osteoarthritis. This is the most common type of arthritis.

Q.How does Glucosamine sulfate works?
A.Glucosamine sulfate is a chemical found in the human body. It is used by the body to produce a variety of other chemicals that are involved in building tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and the thick fluid that surrounds joints. Joints are cushioned by the fluid and cartilage that surround them. In some people with osteoarthritis, the cartilage breaks down and becomes thin. This results in more joint friction, pain, and stiffness. Researchers think that taking glucosamine supplements may either increase the cartilage and fluid surrounding joints or help prevent breakdown of these substances, or maybe both. Some researchers think the “sulfate” part of glucosamine sulfate is also important. Sulfate is needed by the body to produce cartilage. This is one reason why researchers believe that glucosamine sulfate might work better than other forms of glucosamine such as glucosamine hydrochloride or N-acetyl glucosamine. These other forms do not contain sulfate.

Q.What are the benefits of Glucosamine sulfate?
A.Knee and Hip Osteoarthritis
Osteoarthritis of other joints
Rheumatoid arthritis
Knee injury.

Q.What is Chondroitin sulfate?
A.Chondroitin is a natural component of cartilage, which is the "shock absorber" between synovial joints.

Q. What are the benefits of Chondroitin sulfate?
A.Chondroitin helps to maintain cartilage's spongy nature by absorbing water. Chondroitin may also retard enzymes that can damage cartilage, and it provides the basic "ingredients" for the body to make new cartilage. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, results from several well-designed scientific studies suggest that chondroitin sulfate may be an effective treatment for osteoarthritis, especially of the knee and hip. The studies' findings suggest that benefits lasted up to three months post treatment and included reduced arthritic pain, improved joint function and reduced joint swelling and stiffness.
