Magnesium Citrate is produced from the synthesis of Magnesium Carbonate and Citric Acid and is a readily bioavailable source of this key mineral. It plays key roles in the activation of amino acids for protein biosynthesis and is highly concentrated in intracellular fluid and bone. 

Magnesium is a mineral that is critical for energy production and metabolism, muscle contraction, nerved impulse transmission and bone mineralization. It is required cofactor for an estimated 300 enzymes. Among the reactions catalyzed by these enzymes are fatty acid synthesis, protein synthesis and glucose metabolism. Magnesium citrate is the product of magnesium combined with citric acid, which has the chemical formula C6H6O7Mg. Magnesium citrate is often used in liquid form as a saline laxative to treat constipation, or to completely empty the intestines prior to surgery. Magnesium citrate may also be packaged into capsules and used to increase levels of magnesium in the blood to treat magnesium deficiency.
Magnesium Malate:
Magnesium malate forms when magnesium is reacted with malic acid, yielding a chemical with the formula C4H4MgO5. Magnesium malate is most commonly used to treat a condition known as fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia is a poorly understood disease characterized by fatigue, muscle pain, stiffness, headache and memory problems, and may be linked to low magnesium levels.

Q.What are the magnesium defficiency symptoms ?
A. Deficient symptoms:
Stress and diseases involving secretion of adrenalin results in losses of magnesium.  Deficiencies cause involuntary muscle movements, such as spasms and twitching, convulsions, insomnia, irregular heart beat, leg and foot cramps, muscle pain, restlessness, seizures, tachycardia, bedwetting and depression.  Deficiency is also implicated in mental disorders, such as: anxiety, confusion, hypothermia, apathy, confusion and disorientation, learning disability and memory impairment.   Behavioural symptoms such as: hyperactivity, loss of appetite and anorexia.  Physical symptoms including: weakness and tiredness, numbness and tingling, nausea, vertigo, convulsions, epilepsy, uncontrollable eye flicking, muscular in co-ordination, insomnia, constipation, hypoglycaemia, difficulty in swallowing, abnormal ECG rhythm pre-menstrual symptoms, and susceptibility to the toxic effects of digoxin. Also, high consumption of milk, which has an extremely low magnesium-phosphorous ratio, may be involved with hyperactivity and learning disablement.  Even children with high IQ can suffer learning problems due to magnesium deficiency.
